A great day out, getting to the show early, to beat the 'hoards'. Relatively modest compared to the November NEC equivalent, it doesn't take long to whistle around all the stands. PP invested in a new pair of custom earplugs; I finally committed to the new Cardo Slim communicator.
Only one new bike (GSA 1250 aside) realistically took our fancy - the Triumph 1200 Scrambler. Finally Triumph have created a thing of beauty that has some appeal for the three of us. Whilst we're not planning to trade in our GSAs, we're definitely keen to head to Wales and try out this new model first hand...a weekend jaunt in the pipeline for 2020, with Matt at Triumph Adventure Experience. Interested to see how 'warming' the pipes become?!
Some great cafe racers and customs - CCM, Harley and Indian; an MV Augusta for £39k? - we had a good look at what's new for 2019. Mesh seat covers provided the only other spontaneous purchase, PP and SC deciding to give them a go. Still happy with the Airhawk for the longer adventures, I'll await their feedback before deciding if mesh is a worthwhile investment?
Hooking up with two close pals that are just starting out, Nick and Matthew are still smitten with the smaller retro customs (Royal Enfield & Mutt), Nick there to video the former's stand for some social media. A coffee later and we said our farewells...
