...it all used to be one country, named Yugoslavia; I last visited circa 1987, in my father's Renault 16. Today there are 7 Independent countries, 7 nations, 7 capitals, 7 languages, 3 religions, 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 1,315 miles of coastline, 1,255 islands and 68,350 miles of roads.
We're riding to the untouched countryside of inland Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia, across to the beautiful coastline of the Adriatic Sea, Croatia and Slovenia.
Our Balkans trip will also take in France, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Italy, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, exploring some wonderful cultural and religious diversity, natural wonders, some capital cities, as well as exceptional food and drink.
Travelling out through the Black Forest before picking up the Danube; our return trip through Western Europe will take in the Dolomites and Alpine passes of Switzerland.
